LAKELAND, FL (WTVB) - The Tigers suffered their first two losses of the spring season yesterday as their Grapefruit League record dropped to 2-2 with the split squad setbacks against the Phillies and the Yankees. At Clearwater, Philadelphia beat Detroit 10-6. Nick Castellanos had two doubles and 4 rbi’s for the Tigers. And at home, Detroit fell 7-4 to the Yankees in Lakeland. Max Scherzer gave up a solo home run with no walks and one hit over 2-innings in his Grapefruit League debut. This afternoon, the Tigers host the Houston Astros.
