COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The Community Health Center of Branch County has scheduled a pair of community forums set for a week from tonight to discuss CHC’s on-going search for a strategic partner. The hospital board Monday night selected 3 health systems that will be candidates to possibly merge with or acquire the Community Health Center. Those systems selected by the Trustees to continue discussions with were Bronson, located in Kalamazoo, Community Health Systems, in Brentwood, Tennessee and including Lutheran of Fort Wayne, and Sparrow Health, located in Lansing.
Over the next few weeks, onsite visits at both CHC and the three selected health systems will be scheduled and more in-depth talks will happen. Upon completion of these visits, the proposals will be presented for the CHC Board to review and make their final recommendations probably sometime in May. Mike Iveson, chair of the hospital board in Coldwater said right now, they feel the three health systems offer great opportunities for CHC to continue to provide high-quality, leading edge, patient-focused care to those they serve.
Randy DeGroot, President and CEO of the Community Health Center said the right strategic partner is an organization that shares CHC’s vision to grow their services, protect what they’ve built, and make sure that our community has access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for years to come.
