COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The long winter has been extremely hard on roads and streets this year, and next month will probably expose more pot holes. Coldwater City Manager Jeff Budd say right now, Department of Municipal Services crews are out there every day, whether it looks that way or not, sweeping the streets and filling the existing holes, trying to keep up with the problem.
At Monday night's Coldwater City Council meeting, Budd issued another reminder that the city recreation building and offices at Heritage Park will be closed beginning next Monday, March 31st for the rec center expansion. Those offices in the meantime will be relocated to a basement space at city hall. Speaking of recreation, Budd said that over 250 people have signed up for the mother-son dance which is happening this Saturday evening at the Dearth Center.
And finally, Budd reported that yes, the city is still picking up Christmas trees from the curbsides as the large snow piles that had them covered up since late December have finally mostly melted away, another sign that the winter that wouldn’t quit is actually showing promising signs of surrendering to spring.
