WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- One U.S. senator wants General Motors to tell people who own the one-point-six million vehicles it recalled earlier this year for ignition switch problems to park them.

Senator Richard Blumenthal has sent a letter to GM CEO Mary Barra ahead of her testimony before a Senate subcommittee next week. The Connecticut Democrat says he thinks the vehicles are a “present urgent danger” and called it the automaker’s "legal and moral duty" to get the cars parked.

Problems with the ignition switches and airbags are linked to twelve deaths to date.
