BRONSON (WTVB) - A Bronson school district bus taking students home Friday afternoon collided with a vehicle in Branch County’s Bethel Township. Sheriff’s Deputies said several kids on the bus complained of minor bumps and scrapes but none had to go the hospital. Two of the 5 people in the vehicle that hit the bus were hurt but only complained of minor pain.

According to deputies, 49-year old Laurie Wonders of Bronson was driving the bus and was southbound on Parham Road when she stopped for the stop sign at Cranson Road. However, she failed to see the eastbound vehicle driven by 75-year old Albert Metzger of Bronson and began to pull into the intersection.  Both of them swerved but couldn’t avoid contact and crashed in the eastbound lane of Cranson Road. Metzgers’ wife was a front seat passenger while a woman in the backseat and two infants in car seats escaped injury. Everyone was evaluated by Lifecare Ambulance paramedics and sought their own treatment.  The accident happened around 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
