Detroit has won 5 straight to improve to 17-9 and they lead the American League Central by 4-and-a-half games over the Twins. Nick Castellanos and Alex Avila homered for the Tigers while Torii Hunter had 3 hits and 3 rbi’s. Justin Verlander carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He ended up striking out seven in seven innings while allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs, taking his record to 4-1.
