QUINCY, MI (WTVB) - There were handshakes and high-fives last night in Quincy for school officials and campaign organizers when they learned that voters on Tuesday approved a pair of bond issues that will mean school building improvements with safety and technology upgrades along with the addition of an auxiliary gym and fitness room. 21% of the registered voters in the district turned out to pass the proposals.

Proposal One for fixing up the buildings was approved 616-547 while it was a bit closer for the second issue on the gymnasium question which squeaked by 586-573.

Statewide, 35 of 40 bonding proposals and 9 of 11 sinking fund requests were approved by voters yesterday including issues on the ballot in the Camden Frontier school district and the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District.
