DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - The streaking Detroit Tigers beat the Astros 11-4 last night at Comerica Park for their seventh straight win. Miguel Cabrera was 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI’s as Detroit tagged four Houston pitchers for 18 hits including two apiece from four players. Robbie Ray earned the victory in his major league debut, striking out five across five-and-a-third innings of one run ball. The 22-year old left-hander started in place of Anibal Sanchez, who is on the disabled list with a right middle finger laceration. Ray is expected to pitch again Sunday against the Twins.
The Tigers American League best record of 19-9 leaves them with a five game lead over the White Sox in the Central Division. Rick Porcello gets the start tonight for Detroit in game 3 of this 4 game series against the Astros.
