UNDATED (WTVB) - Can Branch County keep up with our neighbors to the south when it comes to improved jobless numbers? It was reported Friday that Steuben County, Indiana's unemployment rate dipped to 5.4% in April. That's almost one percent better than March when the rate was 6.3 percent. Branch County's March unemployment rate was 7.7%. That was down from 8.4% in February. Branch County's April numbers should be released at the end of next week. Nearby LaGrange County, Indiana had one of the 8 lowest rates in the Hoosier State last month at 4.3%.
