COLDWATER (WTVB) - The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority Board meeting scheduled for next Wednesday May 28th has been canceled due to lack of an agenda. But there’s no lack of busy activity downtown right now and coming in the weeks ahead as pointed out by Keith Baker, Coldwater Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager. It includes the Upson Plaza parking lot reconstruction which is slated to start Tuesday.
43 downtown flower planters have been installed including the four new ones on South Monroe Street. The Chandler Plaza parking lot clean-up was completed prior to the Car Cruise Block Party Mother’s Day weekend. Also, the Rumsey Plaza parking lot clean-up is done. The Four Corners Park Committee recommendation has been approved for submission to the City Council.
A Military Memorials Restoration Fund has been created at the Branch County Community Foundation. The DDA has had its First Kerr Redevelopment Project walk through. And there’s also been alley & sidewalk cleaning by the Coldwater Fire Department.
The next regular DDA board meeting is Wednesday June 25th and Baker adds that Strawberry Fest 2014 is happening downtown on Saturday June 21st.
