COLDWATER (WTVB) - As you head to, or host, that traditional Memorial Day weekend barbecue, keep in mind the massive ground beef recall announced earlier this week by the USDA. The recall involves almost two million pounds of ground beef from Detroit's Wolverine Packing Co. The problem? Food safety officials believe the meat to be the source of about a dozen cases of E. coli. The original recall notice said the beef had been shipped out for use in restaurants in just four states. Now, it's believed the products may have actually been sent to stores in as many as ten states, including Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
