LANSING, MI (WTVB) - You may have heard of the measles outbreak in the U.S., although there have been zero cases reported so far in Michigan. The Centers for Disease Control says they could see a new modern era record set, with already 307 cases reported this year. The CDC indicates the bug is being imported and then spreading to others who have never been vaccinated.
One group catching the measles from those travelers are the Amish in Northern Ohio. Health officials in Michigan are tracking the outbreak carefully because of the uptick in the illness being reported in such a close-by state.
