COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The expanding and evolving retail landscape in downtown Coldwater will soon include two new restaurants but none will be located in the near future in the Kerr Building, where the renovated property has 14 tenants lined up for the apartment units which are scheduled to be ready for occupancy on May 1st. Assistant Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the City Council last night that the apartments are nearly complete while they’re still searching for 3 commercial tenants.
According to Baker, the tenant spaces will be built out to what’s called a “white box”. He said the three original restaurant commitments for the building have since rescinded. Project developer Jennifer Wingard is actively looking for new tenants.
Meanwhile, the Broadway Grill has taken over the former Monroe Street Station and hopes to be open by Memorial Day and a Mexican restaurant could be ready for business any day now in the former Tailgaters location.
