BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In varsity boys high school basketball Thursday, Bronson rallied for a 62-61 victory at White Pigeon. The Vikings trailed 22-16 at the break but outscored the Chiefs 46-39 in the second half for the win. Sean Kenny had a team-high 20 points for Bronson with 17 points for Noah Roberts and Eric Toledo had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Vikings improved to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the BCS Conference.
And in girls varsity hoops last night, Tekonsha fell at home to Bellevue 49-29. Alexis Newbold had 10 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Indians.
Last night’s reserve boys and girls basketball schedule included Coldwater vs. Parma Western with a win for the Coldwater JV boys team while Western beat the Cardinals in the other 3 games. In the boys action at Parma Western, the JV game went to Coldwater 45-44 with 11 points for Brady Beckhusen. The freshman lost to Western 25-23 with 11 points for Joe Severn.
In the girls play at Coldwater, Parma Western won the JV game 38-31 with 12 points for Isabella Foley and 10 points for Madison Marsh. Coldwater lost the freshman game 30-25 with 12 points for Allison Adams.
In bowling Thursrday, Coldwater hosted Jackson Northwest in a match at Midway Lanes with a win for the girls team while Northwest beat the Cardinals boys squad. In the Coldwater victory, Alysia VanWormer led the way with a 219 while Kira Mobley had a 162. The girls improved their record to 6-1. The junior varsity also defeated Northwest with a 164 for Samantha Youse. The Coldwater boys varsity suffered their first loss of the season to slip to 6-1 with a 200 for Buddy Bailey and a 187 for Brady Omo. The JV boys picked up a win with a 210 for Nick Galliers.

In middle school sports yesterday, in Girls basketball, Coldwater lost all four of their games with Jackson Northwest. In the 8th grade action at Northwest, Coldwater lost the “A” game 56-48 with 19 points each for Samantha Rodesiler and Malorie Rzepka while Tyler Scheid had 11 rebounds. Northwest won the “B” game 25-19. Valentina Yaldo and Anna Tappenden had 8 points each for Coldwater. In the seventh grade contests at Coldwater, the Lady Cardinals dropped the “A” game 30-25 with 12 points for Olivia Foley. Coldwater lost the “B” game 19-13 with 4 points each for Emma Moore and Mackenzie Cole.
Also yesterday, Bronson was a winner at home over White Pigeon 46-7 in a game that had both schools use a combined 7th and 8th grade team. Scyler Cary and Keona Salesman had 8 points apiece for Bronson.
