BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports, the only scheduled event last night was a makeup Girls basketball game for Bronson and the Lady Vikings rolled to a 60-28 conference win at Centreville. Skyler Sobeski had a game-high 20 points in the victory with 15 for Kinslea Blouin and 11 for Kirin Cekander.
Bronson finished with a 7-1 record in the inaugural season of the BCS, capturing the East Division title. The Lady Vikings wrap up the regular season tomorrow night at Athens. Next week, Bronson starts the second season playing in the MHSAA Class C Reading District, beginning with a first round game Monday night at Jonesville.
Tonight in high school sports, in varsity Girls basketball, it’s Senior Night for Union City as they host Jonesville. The reserve basketball schedule includes the Coldwater Boys freshman and junior varsity teams at Charlotte while in freshman Girls action, it’s Coldwater at Pennfield. And tonight in gymnastics, Coldwater is at home against Mason.

In middle school sports yesterday, in Girls basketball, Coldwater closed out their season with a split against Jackson Northwest with wins for the “A” teams while the “B” squads lost to Northwest. In the 8th grade contests in Coldwater, the “A” team beat the Mounties 69-51 with 25 points for Malorie Rzepka along with 15 points and 13 rebounds for Tyler Scheid. Also, Samantha Rodesiler and Emilee Smoker had 11 points apiece. The “B” team lost to Northwest 32-26 with 13 points for Anna Tappenden. In the 7th grade “A” game at Northwest, the Lady Cardinals defeated the Mounties 40-29 with 18 points for Carlee Crabtree and 14 points for Olivia Foley. Coldwater dropped the “B” game 22-18 with 6 points for Abby Little.
