It also gave the Lady Cardinals the third of their required four team Regional qualifying scores needed for a berth in the MHSAA Regionals in March. Coldwater posted season high scores last night on three events: the bars, beam, and floor exercise and in the process tallied 18 individual Regional Qualifying scores in the four events. Shelby Kahler and Madison Hedstrom both earned their right to compete in the post-season by scoring a fourth qualifier on the vault. Hedstrom also collected her fourth individual score for the floor exercise. The first event last night was the vault and Coldwater picked up six individual qualifiers led by a tie for second place between sisters Jenny and Amanda Daoud at 8.3. Next on the uneven bars, Jenny Daoud scored a personal best of 8.0 tying for second on the event. Then on the balance beam, the Lady Cardinals stuck four routines, and had five individual qualifiers. Leading the way was an impressive 1-2-3 finish from Jenny at 8.35, Amanda at 8.25, and Sarah Hughes at 7.95. It was a season high score for both Daoud girls and a personal best for Hughes. The momentum from the balance beam carried through to final event, the vault with five individuals collecting Regional qualifying scores including Jenny and Amanda Daoud, Brooke Neitzert, her first, Madison Hedstrom, and Darien Dyer, her third. A second place finish for Jenny Daoud included a personal best mark of 8.45 and she picked up another personal record and a win in the All-around competition at 33.1.
