COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The summer gasoline price roller-coaster is headed back in the right direction for motorists in Branch County and across most of Michigan. After matching the high price in 2015 of just under three dollars a gallon last week heading into the 4th of July holiday period, prices yesterday continued to drop, falling at least another 20-cents a gallon at some stations to $2.78 a gallon.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration on Tuesday reported that savings at the pump helped push U.S. gasoline demand to an eight year high while crude oil production across the country was at its highest in 45 years. Also on the energy front, natural gas production has reached record levels in the U.S.
