KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – The Western Michigan University Haworth College of Business Career Center has honored Consumers Credit Union with its first Employer of the Year award. The award recognizes the organization that has had the most significant impact on student development and support through volunteerism during the previous academic year.
After evaluating each of its partner’s and employer’s contributions toward supporting the Career Center and business students, an unanimous decision was made to honor Consumers Credit Union with the 2014-15 Employer of the Year Award. “We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Steve Dykstra, 9th Street Office Manager at Consumers Credit Union and WMU Business partner. “We receive so much more in return when we engage with WMU students, faculty and staff.”
Recipients are chosen based on their exceptional recruiting practices, as well as, their involvement in educational activities that contribute to the career development of WMU students and alumni. Consumers Credit Union actively collaborated with the Career Center on various events for the 2014-15 year, including:

Consumers Credit Union received the honor during a ceremony hosted by Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business Career Center Wednesday, September 23, in Harrison-Stinson Hall on Western Michigan University’s campus.
