COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan recently announced that the Community Health Center of Branch County is one of the first hospitals to receive the Blue Distinction Center Plus for Maternity Care designation which is a new designation under the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program.
The new program evaluates hospitals on such criteria as the percentage of newborns that fall into the category of early elective delivery which is an ongoing concern in the medical community.
In addition, hospitals that receive the designation agree to meet requirements that align with principles which support evidence based practices of care. Overall patient satisfaction is also evaluated.
