BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In high schjool baseball Wednesday, Bronson was held to just two runs and committed eight errors in a BCS East doubleheader loss at Centreville as they were beaten by the Bulldogs 3-0 and 6-2. Brenden Bell had two hits in the opener. Bell and Noah Roberts both doubled and had an RBI in the nightcap.
Bronson is now 17-6 overall and 6-2 in the BCS East.

Coldwater is now 21-4 and 10-2 in the Interstate 8 after they swept a doubleheader at Harper Creek on Wednesday by scores of 10-0 and 15-1. Darlene Horn and Tyler Scheid were the winning pitchers. Jamie Wellet had three hits in the first game. Payton Watson had four hits including a double in the second contest while Kendall Galloway homered in the nightcap.
Coldwater’s J.V. softball team is now 19-4 after they swept a doubleheader against Harper Creek by scores of 8-0 and 15-7. Emma Stanley and Cheyenne Akers were the winning pitchers. Stanley had three hits in the first game while Seairah Bradley drove in four runs in the nightcap.

Jackson Lumen Christi 4, Coldwater 1
After playing to a 1-1 tie in the first half, the Coldwater varsity girls soccer team let down in the second half and fell to Jackson Lumen Christ 4-1 Wednesday night. The loss to Lumen Christi, ranked 7th in this week’s Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association Division 3 poll, dropped the Lady Cardinals to 3-2-1 in the Interstate 8 Conference and 7-3-4 overall.
Malorie Rzepka scored the Lady Cardinal’s lone goal, assisted by Madison Marsh. Nadia Kiersey made 3 saves in goal. Coldwater is off now until next Wednesday, May 18 when they host Charlotte for Senior Night.
The Coldwater JV team fell to Lumen Christi 4-2. The JV team plays at the Adrian Maples Invitational Saturday.

Quincy winners were Bryce Ruhl in the long jump, Ryan Gibson in the 100, Nathan Nohr in the 800 and the 1600 and Brandon Gary in the 3200. Quincy won the 400 and 3200 relays

Quincy winners were Kayla Hayes in the shot put, Taylor Holcomb in the high jump, Katie Spaulding in the pole vault and 100 hurdles, Jessica Holcomb in the 100, Harmony Harpster in the 800, Mackenzie Horsfall in the 200 and Gabby Porter in the 3200. Quincy also won the 400, 800 and 3200 relays.

Coldwater’s Varsity golf team traveled to the Binder Park Golf Course to participate in the 4th I-8 Jamboree of the season. Coldwater once again came in second behind Jackson Lumen Christi who is ranked 2nd in the State in Division 3. Lumen won with a team score of 151, Coldwater was 2nd at 165 and Charlotte finished 3rd at 172.
Nate Waterbury, Nolan Duda, and Cam Ruge each shot 41’s. Keagan Dwyer had a 42, Alec Keplinger shot a 43 and Nick Galliers rounded out the scoring with a 44. Coldwater will be playing in the I – 8 Championships next Wednesday at the Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek.
Coldwater’s JV team hosted Fremont, Indiana Varsity and JV teams at Coldwater on Wednesday as well and ended up splitting with the Eagles. Coldwater’s 1st JV team defeated Fremont’s Varsity by a score of 182 to 185. Coldwater was led by Tanner Bowers with a 43, Collin Warner had a 44, Jacob Fair carded a 46, Kyle Herman shot a 49 and Brendan Hanna rounded out the scoring with a 50.
Coldwater’s 2nd JV unit lost to Fremont’s JV’s by a score of 215 to 221. Joe Hicks led the way for Coldwater with a 49, Tristin Stukey had a 54, Dillon Gagnon shot a 58, and Collin Outwater rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 60. Coldwater’s JV’s travel to Battle Creek’s Cedar Creek Golf Course to participate in a JV Invitational hosted by Lakeview on Friday.
