COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The building that has housed the Sauk Trail Trading Post apparently will not be empty for very long.
The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a request from Director Paul Beckhusen on Tuesday to pursue the purchase of the building at 168 Division Street at a price of $168,000.
Beckhusen said they were is a need of additional office space and storage with the CBPU operations along with the potential for relocating the Michigan South Central Power Agency operation to Coldwater.
He added in his memo to the board that the 8,000 square foot commercial property is convenient, the price is attractive and the building can be repurposed and easily adapted to the future needs of both the CBPU and MSCPA. It formerly housed a Carquest Auto Parts store.
Sauk Trail Trading Post owners Terry and Geri Bloom are retiring. They plan to hold a retirement sale starting on October 1, 2016 in which everything in the store must be sold.
