COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District is going ahead with a $1 million energy improvement plan that they believe will be paid back by savings within 10 years.
The BISD board agreed to the Energy Performance Capital Improvement Project with Johnson Controls at their meeting Wednesday.
Superintendent Joe Lopez says the project includes the replacement of boilers, lighting, and control panels. The work will be funded through what is expected to be no interest bond coordinated through the state of Michigan. Energy savings should allow the BISD to see a payback of the money within 10 years.
The BISD board also reelected Ken Norton as its President for the year ahead, with Mike Beckwith elected Vice President.
