BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – It’s one of the largest parades in southwest Michigan and arguably the biggest in Branch County. This afternoon’s Bronson Polish Festival Parade is one of the highlights of the final full day of the Festival. It steps off from St. Mary’s of Assumption Church at 1pm, marches through downtown Bronson, and disbands at Wayne Street on the other side of the city.
Longtime Deputy Fire Chief Ken Stutzman will serve as Grand Marshall, with Bob and Kim Swift of Swift-Skidmore Grain Reclaiming serving as Honorary Grand Marshalls. Special honors will be given to Bronson High School’s back-to-back state championship volleyball teams and to Brandon Hyska, who won the MHSAA Division 4 Boys Bowling Singles championship this past winter.
Other events on tap today include a car show in front of Bronson Strike Zone from 8am-1pm, Pure Pro Wrestling from 3-5pm at the Chicago Street School, the Polka Mass at 4pm at St. Mary’s, and the Dance from 6-10pm at St. Mary’s Gym.
