COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of two women facing multiple charges in connection with the alleged illegal use of Adderal entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
41-year-old Gretchen Alldredge entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of possession of an analog after prosecutors initially filed 18 counts against her.
In exchange for her plea, all other charges will be dropped and Alldredge agreed to offer testimony on co-defendant Doctor Christina Whitaker’s involvement. Whitaker is facing 16 charges.
Alldredge is looking at a maximum sentence of two years. Her sentencing hearing was scheduled for July 31, 2017.
Prosecutors filed a total of five cases against both women.
They were arrested following a Coldwater Police Department investigation into alleged illegal activity between last August and October involving Adderal, which is an attention deficit disorder drug.
Whitaker is accused of writing prescriptions for the drug to Alldredge. Authorities allege that Alldredge in turn tried to buy the Adderall for Whitaker.
Alldredge said during her plea hearing Monday that Whitaker paid for the drugs and that there wasn’t anything in it for her.
Almost half of the charges they are facing involved trying to obtain prescription drugs by fraud.
