LAKELAND, FL (WTVB) – Omar Infante’s two-run double in the sixth inning lifted the Detroit Tigers to a 4-3 win over the New York Mets in Lakeland. J.D. Martinez homered for Detroit, which overcame a 3-0 deficit. Mike Pelfrey struck out two over three hitless innings for the win in relief.
The Tigers play at the Washington Nationals today.
In Cactus League play, the Chicago Cubs suffered a 9-8 loss to the A’s. Kris Bryant homered and plated three in the loss.
The Chicago White Sox were in split-squad action. One team suffered a 10-8 loss to the Rangers while the other used a 14-run ninth to down the Dodgers, 15-5.
Today, the Cubs face the Padres and the White Sox take on the Indians.
