INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WTVB) – Seventh-seeded Michigan begins NCAA Tournament play this afternoon against 10th-seeded Oklahoma State in Indianapolis. The Wolverines are 24-and-11 overall and won the Big Ten Tournament last week with wins over Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The Cowboys are 20-and-12 after losing to Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals. The two schools have met three times, with U-of-M winning twice.
Ninth-seeded Michigan State opens the NCAA Tournament against eighth-seeded Miami tonight in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Spartans are 19-and-14 and are making their 20th consecutive trip to the NCAA’s under head coach Tom Izzo.
The Hurricanes are 21-and-11 and appearing in their ninth NCAA Tournament. Tonight’s game marks the second meeting between MSU and Miami. The ‘Canes beat the Spartans in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in 2012.
