COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the second straight day, the Coldwater Cardinals had a doubleheader called off because of the weather. They were scheduled on Friday to play a doubleheader against top-ranked Schoolcraft on the Eagles home diamond but it was cancelled because of the soggy field conditions following all of the rain this week. It’s not known if the twinbill will be rescheduled.
It was worth the wait for the Bronson Vikings. After their doubleheader with Mendon was rained out twice this week, the Vikings swept the Hornets on Friday by scores of 9-3 and 6-2. The 16-2 Vikings are ranked sixth in Division Three this week by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Jonesville defeated Union City 4-1 in the first game of a scheduled Big 8 Conference doubleheader. The second game was suspended by darkness after eight innings with the score tied 4-4.
