COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school softball, Darlene Horn threw two more shutouts and belted a three run homer in the second game as Coldwater swept a non-conference doubleheader from Hanover-Horton by scores of 7-0 and 6-0 at the Rotary Softball Complex Wednesday.
Coldwater broke open the first game with a six run fifth inning. Avery Milnes had two hits and Tyler Scheid had a double. Horn tossed a two hitter in the first game and did not allow any walks. Horn only allowed seven hits and one walk in the second game as she earned her fourth straight shutout.
Besides Horn’s homer, Samantha Rodesiler had an RBI double while Cheyenne Akers and Scheid both had RBI singles.
With the two wins, the Cardinals improved to 21-9.
Bronson swept a non-conference doubleheader with Concord by scores of 11-5 and 12-0. Adyson Lasky and Allie Sikorski were the winning pitchers. Sikorski and Kaitlyn Czajkowski both had three hits in the first game. Payton Robinson homered and drove in three runs in the nightcap while Kiera Lasky had three hits.
Bronson’s record is now 19-11.
