BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball, the Bronson Vikings won the Class C District title on their home floor Thursday night with a 3-0 victory over Mendon.
After Bronson easily took the first game 25-10, Mendon grabbed a 15-13 lead in the second game. Bronson then ran off six straight points to re-establish control of the match. The Vikings used a 12-3 run to win the second game 25-18. The third game was tied 7-7 when Bronson went on a 10-1 spurt. The Vikings eventually won the third game 25-13.
Adyson Lasky lead the team with 10 digs, Kiana Mayer had 25 assists, and Keona Salesman had 16 kills
Bronson will play in the Class C regional semifinals at Watervliet on Tuesday night at 7:45pm against either Bridgman or Niles Brandywine. Their district title game at Bridgman will take place on Friday night. Schoolcraft and Kalamazoo Christian will play in the first game at 6:00pm on Tuesday night. The Watervliet regional title game will be played next Thursday night at 7:00pm.
There were technical snafus with the National Anthem before the match so the Bronson student section nbegan singing the anthem and they were quickly joined by the rest of the crowd.
