QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy Police Department’s K9 Orin has received body armor, thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Incorporated.
The bullet and stab protective vest for K9 Orin is one of 2,600 protective vests that have been provided for K9s around the country by Vested Interest since its inception in 2009.
The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950. Each vest has a five-year warranty and an average weight of four to five pounds.
K9 Orin is handled by Quincy Police Officer Cody Longrey.
