COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Consumers Energy spokesman says a Monday power outage in Branch County was caused by fertilizer being sprayed on an agricultural field that was also sprayed on some overhead electric lines.
Over 1,100 Consumers Energy customers to the south and west of Coldwater lost electric power at around 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The power outage covered an area from North Barnhart Road south to Central Road, and from just east of Snow Prairie Road to west of Fiske Road.
Most Consumers Energy customers got their power back at about 1:40 p.m. The remainder had their power restored shortly before 3:00 p.m.
The outage did not affect Coldwater Board of Public Utilities customers.
