BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say they’re investigating the theft of a gun safe yesterday afternoon in Burlington Township, and they have released the description of a possible suspect and vehicle involved in the crime.
Troopers from the Marshall Post say the safe was stolen during a breaking and entering around 4:20 p.m. Thursday at a residence on P Drive South. The homeowner was not in the house at the time of the break-in. According to troopers, stolen was a large Sentinel gun safe containing multiple firearms, ammunition, and other personal items.
Also stolen were archery equipment and tools.
A possible suspect vehicle seen in the area around the time of the incident was described as a black Hummer H3, which was last seen driving southbound on 12 mile road near R drive South. The driver of the Hummer was described as a white male, in his late 20’s or early 30’s, with longer brown hair possibly wearing a black hat.
