ALLEN PARK, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Lions are back preparing for Sunday’s game against the Bills in Buffalo.
The team held a walk-through yesterday, but running back Kerryon Johnson, defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand and right tackle Rick Wagner were among five players listed as not participating on the estimated practice report. Johnson has been out with a knee injury since the Lions’ win over Carolina November 18.
Hand suffered a grade two MCL sprain in this past Sunday’s win at Arizona and is not expected to play this week. Wagner remains in concussion protocol and needs to be cleared by doctors before he can return.
The Philadelphia Eagles may have to go with Super Bowl hero Nick Foles on Sunday against the Rams in Los Angeles. Starting quarterback Carson Wentz is dealing with a back injury and missed practice on Wednesday for the first time all season. The team plans to monitor his progress throughout the week, but Foles will start if Wentz can’t go.
The defending champion Eagles are 6-and-7 and in danger of missing the playoffs as they visit the 11-and-2 Rams. Los Angeles is looking to secure a first-round bye.
