COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will be asked Monday night to approve the low bid of $44,500 from MCSA Group of East Grand Rapids to design the new youth baseball and softball diamonds for the city.
The bid would cover the design, bid specifications and construction documents.
The current site of the Little League diamonds will be the home of the new Coldwater School District 4th and 5th grade building after district voters approved a $29.7 millage and bonding question in November.
City Manager Keith Baker said in a memo to Council members that the city received three bids for the design project. Another was submitted after the deadline, but Baker said it would have the second highest bid.
According to the company’s web site, among the projects the MCSA Group has been involved in is Old Kent Fifth Third Park near Grand Rapids, which is the home of the West Michigan Whitecaps minor league baseball team.
They also helped design the baseball, softball and soccer fields at Quincy Park near Holland.
