COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An issue with the wiring is believed to be the cause of a boat fire which happened on Morrison Lake Saturday afternoon near the Waffle Farm Campground.
The Coldwater Fire Department says the fire aboard the Chris Craft vessel was reported at about 4:40 p.m.. The blaze was out by the time fire crews arrived.
An unknown number of people were on board. They were assisted off by those in another boat. No injuries were reported.
The damaged boat was towed to a nearby dock. Damage was estimated at $4,500.
Firefighters were on the scene for less than a half hour. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department and the Marine Patrol also responded.
