COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the seventh straight year the Coldwater High School girls soccer team has been named Academic All State by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association. The team received its award at their annual awards banquet last week.
Seniors Sara Hickey, Carlee Larimer, and Carlie Wilson were also named Individual Academic All State, and the team also qualified for the team All Academic Award from the national United Soccer Coaches organization.
In addition to Hickey, Larimer, and Wilson, Sydney Akers, Marissa Cox, Olivia Foley, Jayda Kelly, Elise Leggett, and Amber Sunderland were named Interstate 8 Academic All Conference.
In honors on the field, Marlorie Rzepka and Carlee Larimer were named to the All District Team, with Rzepka named Interstate 8 All Conference, with Larimer and Olivia Foley named All Conference Honorable Mention.
Rzepka was selected by her teammates as Most Valuable Player and Best Offensive Player. Jayda Kelly was named Best Defensive Player. Carlee Larimer was named Hardest Worker and also received The Cardinal Way Coaches Award. Brooke Neitzert was selected Most Improved and Marissa Cox was named Rookie of the Year.
