COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Community Foundation highlighted local student accomplishments recently during their annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast.
About $70,000 was awarded this year by the Foundation to help students achieve their goal of higher education.
There were 46 scholarships awarded to both graduating seniors and alumni from Coldwater, Bronson, Quincy, Union City and Colon High Schools as well from the Pansophia Academy, Utica Schools and Alma Schools.
A total of 34 students received 2017 Foundation scholarships.
Many of the scholarships were created in honor of someone who is no longer with us.
At the breakfast, Foundation C.E.O. Colleen Knight challenged the recipients to think about what they can do to pay that kindness forward, by thinking about how they can give now and in the future to causes they care about.
