COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – You know it’s a political year when candidates show up for parades.
Branch County Republican Party Chair Dennis Armstrong has announced that State Attorney General Bill Schuette will be in Coldwater on Saturday for the Branch County Fair Parade.
Schuette is scheduled to be at the Branch County Fairgrounds at 3:30 p.m. The parade starts at 4:00 p.m.
Polls show Schuette to be the Republican front runner for Governor in next Tuesday’s Primary.
The news about his Coldwater visit comes on the same day more questions have been raised about Schuette’s ethics during his time as Attorney General.
E-mails uncovered by the Detroit Free Press show Schuette asked over a dozen staff members to do political work on state time in 2015.
All of the emails were sent and received on personal email accounts and not official state accounts, but the Free Press reports one was sent during office hours.
Schuette is also accused by Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley of having state employees do work for him regarding the sale of property he inherited in the U.S. Virgin Islands on state time.
