COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Oil prices are now the lowest they’ve been since 2009 so prices at the pump are expected to remain low, but the predicted adjustment for what you pay to fill up has arrived today. Some stations in the Coldwater area jumped their prices by around a quarter a gallon to the $2.10 range. The lowest prices in the state this morning were in various sections of west and southeast Michigan at $1.55 a gallon.
U.S. crude fell below 50 dollars a barrel today as worries about a surplus and lack of demand continued to drag on markets. The February contract for West Texas Intermediate briefly fell to $49.95 .
