ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – A domestic dispute over the weekend in Steuben County ended with the stabbing death of a woman and critical wounds for another woman. The suspect being held in connection with the Saturday night incident near Angola is the brother of the fatal victim and the son of the other woman.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says 49-year-old Jeffrey Allen Peppler has been jailed without bond on preliminary charges of murder and attempted murder. Deputies responded to the 3,000 West block of County Road 100 North around 9:45 pm Saturday and discovered 52-year-old Paige Peppler dead at the scene from stab wounds. Her 72-year-old mother Linda, also stabbed, was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with reports that her condition has improved and she’s expected to survive.
Investigators said the three of them lived together. There’s no word yet on may have touched off the disturbance that turned deadly.
