UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Slippery surfaces and falls have been taking a toll and there was another such incident early Monday afternoon in Branch County. A man was clearing ice from a porch in Union City when he slipped and fell approximately seven feet. Initial reports called into 911 Central Dispatch indicated the person who fell had no feeling at all in his legs. Life Care Ambulance and Union City Fire Department First Responders were called to the scene on John Street.
More icy conditions will be developing with today’s slushy spots freezing up with the low temperature early tomorrow morning forecast to dip to 7 below zero and the arctic blast hangs around through Wednesday with the predicted low that morning down to as low as 11 below zero. Thankfully, it shouldn’t feel any more frigid than that since the wind chill factor should be not be at all severe with only light breezes and even calm conditions expected.
