BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In high school wrestling Wednesday night, Bronson picked up a pair of wins in a quad at White Pigeon. The Vikings beat Mendon 45-24 and then defeated the host Chiefs 53-27. Earning wins against Mendon were Jordan Withington, Wes Disbro, Kahle Sheenks, David Erwin, Mykal Kline, and Chase Gibson with pins for Withington, Disbro and Kline. In the victory over White Pigeon, the pins went to Sheenks and Gibson, as well as Nathan Caudill and Joey Losinski while Erwin posted a decision win in the match.
Quincy was 0-and-2 in quad at Concord. The Orioles fell 60-4 to Homer and 66-13 to Jonesville. Ezra Brown had two major decisions while Joel Roush had a decision win and Joe Oberlitner posted a pin for the Orioles.
Tonight in high school sports, in boys basketball, Bronson plays at home against White Pigeon. And the reserve hoops schedule includes Coldwater vs. Harper Creek with the boys at Harper Creek and the girls games in Coldwater with the freshmen tipping off at 5:30 pm and the junior varsity action following at around 7 pm. And in varsity bowling this afternoon, Coldwater has a home match against Charlotte at Midway Lanes.

In middle school sports, the girls basketball season started this week. Last night, in 7th grade action, Quincy was a winner at Bronson 36-14. Keona Salesman had 8 points in the loss. The Bronson 8th grade team beat Quincy 54-8. High scorers for Bronson included Ashton Wronikowski with 20 points, Kiera Lasky with 12 points, and Paris Outwater and Maddy Thompson each with 10 points. And Union City’s 8th grade team fell at home to Centreville 20-15 with 4 points for Danielle Cross. The Coldwater Legg Middle School girls basketball season begins next Tuesday.
