WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) – President Obama says middle-class economics works. In his State of the Union address, he remarked that policies to boost the middle class will continue to work, as long as politics don’t get in the way. Obama said his administration has advanced what he called “sensible regulations” to prevent future financial crises, promote competition and shield families from ruin.
However, Branch County’s representative in the U.S House, 7th District Republican Tim Walberg said the President last night missed an opportunity to rally the country around bipartisan solutions and instead gave a speech overlooking the American people’s overwhelming rejection of his policies last November. Obama promised to veto for any bill that threatens to remove families’ health insurance or deregulate Wall Street.
Walberg charged the President’s proposed policies offer only more spending and higher taxes that will weaken our economy and reduce opportunities for Michigan families and they deserve better.
