COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The much anticipated opening of the renovated Kerr Building in downtown Coldwater will remain a long awaited project for a little while yet, maybe until sometime in March. That was the word Thursday from investor and developer Jennifer Wingard. Coldwater city officials and Wingard have been meeting and planning for more than five years to move ahead with the redevelopment of the building on U-S 12, which will include a restaurant that is scheduled to be in operation this spring.
Wingard also told us that the fourteen apartments on the second and third floors have proven to be very popular with already a waiting list to sign up to rent one of the units. Wingard gave special thanks to the city for being so helpful in navigating the myriad pieces of loan and grant requirements that allowed the $5.5 million project to succeed.
