LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Speculation continues to grow that current Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette will be making a run for Governor in 2018. Under Michigan term limits, Schuette is serving his last term as AG, but held a fundraising reception this morning in Washington D.C. It coincides with the Republican Attorneys General Association’s winter meeting in the nation’s capitol.
A Schuette spokesman told the Detroit News that the attorney general is following the state’s campaign finance law, which allows elected officials to keep fundraising long after they are barred from reelection. A candidate can transfer fund from one campaign committee to another if they run for another office.
Schuette has just been announced as a the keynote speaker for the 120th Branch County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Dearth Center in Coldwater.
