COLDWATER (WTVB) – An important opportunity to make your child’s first experience at school a great one is coming up next week on Monday evening in Coldwater. All parents and students of incoming preschool, developmental kindergarten, and kindergarteners are invited to attend a free Learning Fair at Max Larsen Elementary School from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. The event is for any child age 3-5 years old with parents and children learning hands-on activities to work on over the summer so the kids can be prepared for the first day of school. Also parents can start the registration process for preschool, Head Start and kindergarten.
Activities offered will include students meeting teachers, visiting classrooms at Max Larsen Elementary, vendors related to early education, sensory play with playdoh and shaving cream, math activity with table measuring, pattern blocks, junk boxes, literacy focus with name writing, magnetic letters, leveled books, cooking experince with make-n-take trail mix, music/story telling, fine motor-legos, cutting, objects and tongs, technology area with iPad, gross motor activity and science experiments with weighing and balancing, goop, and marbles games.
Free food will be provided by ConAgra, Branch County United Way, Chartwells and Branch County Head Start with in kind donations from Wal-Mart Distribution #6043. There will also be giveaways and door prizes from the vendors in attendance.
This event is a joint preschool partnership of Great Start Collaborative, Bronson Community Schools, Head Start, Great Start Readiness Program, Coldwater Community Schools, Branch Intermediate School District, Branch County United Way, and Quincy Community Schools. Other Learning Fairs will be hosted in Bronson next week on Thursday, March 19th at Anderson Elementary and in Quincy, it’s at Jennings Elementary on Tuesday, April 14th .
