ADRIAN, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school basketball, one area team advances to the Elite Eight while another is eliminated after last night’s MHSAA State Tournament Regional Finals. At the Class C Adrian Madison Regional, Hanover Horton moved on with a 52-42 win over Addison. The victory for the Comets, who ended Hillsdale’s undefeated season in Monday’s semifinals, improved their record to 23-1.
At the Mendon Class D Regional, Mendon’s March Magic ride ended as the Hornets fell 60-42 to Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian, which heads to the quarterfinals for the third time in five years. Mendon finished with a 13-11 record.
In girls basketball, the Final Four tips off today at the Breslin Center with the Class C and Class D semifinals. The last area team still alive in the tournament, Pittsford, puts its 25-0 record on the line tonight in a Class D matchup against Waterford Our Lady, which is 12-and-12. The Class A and Class B semifinals are tomorrow with the four state title games set for Saturday.
