COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater woman remains in the Branch County Jail after Coldwater City Police accused her of drunk driving and fleeing the scene of an injury accident. A pregnant woman and her son that were passengers in a mini-van were hurt and went to the hospital after their vehicle was rammed from behind.
41-year old Tonya England was arraigned Monday in District Court on charges of operating while impaired, driving with a suspended license, and failing to stop and identify. Police says England’s pickup truck struck the van that was starting to turn from U.S. 12 north onto Hudson Street. The collision happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon and England was arrested around 15 minutes later at a home on Lott Road.
The accident injuries were not believed to be serious.
