BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – There was a rather mysterious car fire late last night in Branch County. A passerby phoned 9-1-1 Central Dispatch around 10:15 p.m. to report the blaze in a field along Orland Road near Whipple Road in Noble Township.
When the Bronson Fire Department reached the scene, the 4-door vehicle that was about 20 yards off the road was engulfed in flames. They couldn’t tell right away whether or not there was anybody in the car but as it turns out, there was no one in or near the vehicle. It was torched so badly that it wasn’t readily apparent what was the make or year of the car and there was no license plate.
Michigan State Police at the Coldwater Post are investigating and they’re asking anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious in the area last night to contact the Post at (517)278-2373.
