COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The need never ends and the work for volunteers is on-going at the Branch Area Food Pantry in Coldwater where yesterday another sizeable donation was received. Nearly 900 pounds of food was collected for the Pantry during March at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coldwater where parishioner Paul Bair says it seems everybody remembers the Pantry during their holiday basket drives for Thanksgiving and Christmas but people should understand they require assistance year round.
The church on Wednesday, besides delivering the foodstuffs, also donated a check for $354.38. Of that amount, $202.38 was collected as loose change by chilidren of the church during a “noisy” offering March 22nd.
Rick Schark, the Pastor at St. Marks, said he knows many people that visit the Food Pantry who are in need, occasionally, and it’s great to realize that not only do they get food to put on their table, they also get some encouragement and inspiration as well.
